Haircare Academy: Vitamins & Hair

Vitamins can support normal hair growth, but they do not automatically provide thicker or stronger hair. They primarily make a difference if the body lacks the specific vitamin or mineral.

Biotin The most famous hair vitamin. Deficiency can lead to hair loss, but it is rare. Large doses in healthy individuals have limited documented effect.

Vitamin D Important, especially in winter. Deficiency should be avoided for the body's general function, but it's not a direct hair cure.

Iron & Zinc Deficiency can lead to increased hair loss. Only take supplements if blood tests show an actual deficiency; otherwise, high doses can be harmful.

Multivitamins and Hair Gummies If you eat a varied diet, you usually don't need special 'hair vitamins'. A regular multivitamin can be fine.

Be careful with excessive amounts – too much vitamin A and selenium can actually cause hair loss!
